The structure and function of the Pennsylvania STEM Initiative is driven by a strategic planning effort that includes key source documents, with the National Governor's Association's Innovation America report serving as the backbone of the initiative. In addition to Innovation America, the NGA Center for Best Practices provided Promoting STEM Education: A Communications Toolkit. Several communications teams have been invited to the table to offer their input. Included in these consultants are GMMB, Exemplar Strategic Communications and Wendt Partners. GMMB submitted their observations and communications backgrounder, a proposed Pennsylvania STEM Education Communications Strategy was developed by Exemplar Strategic Communications, and then these information was synthesized and further integrated into the development of a Strategic Program Guide and Statewide Communications Guide created by Wendt Partners.
