Can $650 million make a difference? We think so.Team Pennsylvania Foundation is hosting a meeting on December 16 in State College that will bring school superintendents from across the state together to inform them how they can apply for an Investing in Innovation (i3) grant.
Investing in Innovation (i3) is a new $650 million federal education grant program to support local efforts to start or expand research-based innovative programs that help close the achievement gap and improve outcomes for students.
Individual school districts or groups of districts can apply for the i3 grants, and are encouraged to partner with entrepreneurial nonprofits to submit applications.
The meeting will cover: the priorities and processes behind the i3 grant program; how districts can position themselves for success; how STEM may help them meet their goals; and the resources available for collaboration and assistance.
Presenters include individuals from the U.S. Department of Education; National Governor’s Association Center for Best Practices; Team Pennsylvania Foundation and a former chief operating officer for the National Science Foundation.
