In 2007, Pennsylvania STEM Initiative was selected to be part of the National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP).  The NGCP is an organization that strives to bring together organizations that encourage young women to enter a STEM-related field and support them through that process. NGCP's vision is to maxamize resources, strengthen the capacity of existing programs and leverage the network to help move Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers toward equality.

With a goal of connecting public/private sectors to reach out and engage girls in STEM related educational programs; the NGCP is an ideal partner for PA STEM Initiative. Similar projects are currently operating in California, the Great Lakes area, Kentucky, Florida, Maine, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington. Pennsylvania’s goal, with this new formed partnership, will be to learn from not only NGCP but all the partnering states too.
